Shone Farm is one of the largest agriculture sites in the California Community Colleges system. It was a military listening post during World War II. It was declared surplus land in 1972 by the federal government and subsequently sold. The farm includes 120 acres of forest, 100 acres of pasture, 90 acres of vineyard, 12 acres for crop production, 4 acres of olive and apple trees and 39 acres of buildings.
Shone Farm products include award-winning wines and olive oil. A variety of grapes planted on site include Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, and Syrah. Most of the wine grapes are sold to local wineries. Other ag products include vegetables and grass-fed beef.
